Bram Stoker

Bram Stoker (1847–1912) was an Irish author best known for his groundbreaking horror novel, 'Dracula'. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Stoker had a childhood filled with illness, which confined him to bed. He recovered and later attended Trinity College, Dublin, where he excelled academically and athletically. After college, Stoker became a civil servant and also worked as a theater critic, which led to his meeting with the famous actor Henry Irving. He became Irving's manager and worked at the Lyceum Theatre in London for nearly three decades.
