4.1 Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features
We provide optional artificial intelligence features within the Service, including tools for rewriting, rephrasing, summarizing, enhancing text, generating synonyms, and other AI-assisted content improvements ("AI Features"). When you choose to use these features, the text, prompts, and content you submit may be processed by our AI systems and trusted third-party AI service providers to generate the requested output.
Important: Use of AI Features is completely optional. If you choose not to use AI Features, your content will not be processed through AI systems.

When you use AI Features, we may process:
- The text, prompts, and content you input into the AI tools

- Usage metadata (timestamps, feature usage patterns)
- Technical device and browser information
Data Minimization: You should avoid submitting sensitive personal information (such as financial information, health data, or other highly sensitive personal data) into AI Features unless necessary for your work. While we implement security measures to protect your data, minimizing the amount of sensitive information you submit reduces privacy risks.
4.3 Third-Party AI Service Providers
To provide AI functionality, we use third-party AI service providers. These providers act as processors or service providers under GDPR/UK GDPR and US privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA) and are contractually required to:
- Use your data only to provide AI output at your request
- Keep your data confidential and secure
- Not "sell" or "share" your data as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws
- Not use your data for training or improving their AI models
- Not store your data longer than necessary to provide AI output
- Implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data
- Comply with applicable data protection laws and regulations
International Transfers: Some AI processing may occur outside your state or jurisdiction. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or UK authorities for international data transfers to ensure your data is protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

- Targeted advertising or marketing
- Selling or sharing data with third parties for their own purposes
- Creating user profiles for purposes other than providing the requested AI output
4.5 Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Users)
For users in the EU/EEA and UK, we process data via AI Features based on the following legal bases under UK GDPR and EU GDPR:
- Contractual Necessity: To provide the AI feature you choose to use, as part of our contract with you to deliver the Service
- Legitimate Interests: To improve, secure, and operate AI tools effectively, ensure system reliability, and prevent misuse or harmful content
You may opt out of AI features at any time by choosing not to use them. Your decision not to use AI Features will not affect your access to other features of the Service.

4.6.2 Right to Opt Out of Automated Decision-Making
US state privacy laws grant you the right to opt out of automated decision-making in certain contexts. Our AI Features do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. AI Features only transform content you submit based on your explicit request. All AI outputs require human review, and you remain responsible for evaluating and verifying any AI-generated text before using or publishing it.

Instructions for exercising your rights appear in Section 14 (US Privacy Rights) and Section 16 (Contact Us) of this Privacy Policy.
4.6.4 Right to Opt Out of Targeted Advertising
AI Features are not used for targeted advertising, user profiling, or behavioral tracking. We do not use your AI inputs or outputs to deliver targeted advertisements or create advertising profiles.
4.7 Automated Decision-Making
AI Features do not make decisions that have legal, financial, or similarly significant effects on you. Our AI Features are designed to assist you with content creation and editing tasks, but they do not:
- Make decisions about your eligibility for services, credit, employment, or other significant matters
- Automatically approve or deny requests or applications
- Determine pricing, fees, or financial terms
- Make decisions that significantly affect your legal rights or obligations
All AI outputs require human review, and you remain solely responsible for evaluating and verifying any AI-generated text before using or publishing it. You should always review AI-generated content for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with applicable laws and your own standards.
